Enjoy a drink or delicious tea in a historic setting Tea time from 3pm to 6pm, no reservation Bar open daily from noon to midnight
Menu

Bar and Afternoon Tea service is at our guests’ disposal from noon to midnight. The dedicated spaces include the patio with its comfortable wicker armchairs designed by Gae Aulenti, the salon rouge with its beautifully painted French style ceiling and its working fireplace, the Chinese cabinet with a flowering plants and birds Chinese wallpaper from the first half of the 18th century and, weather permitting, the garden terrace and the luxuriant garden itself just next to the mighty walls of the Popes’ Palace, Avignon’s historical monument.

La Mirande, simple, noble & endless pleasure

La Mirande’s bar is set in the warm and inviting atmosphere of its red drawing room with a 17th century painted ceiling.

A varied and subtle drink list will satisfy all expectations. A wide range of Single Malt whisky will delight the amateurs: Glenmorrangie, Aberlour, Lagavulin...

Traditional aperitifs and classic or contemporary seasonal cocktails are also on the bar’s drink list.

At the bar, various home-made creations are offered, highlighting local products such as the wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the spirits of the MANGUIN distillery in Avignon.

Any time of the day, La Mirande’s bar in Avignon is an ideal setting for a “city escape”. Far from the hustle of the town, you will be amazed by such quietness timing out in the noble ambiance of the 17th century.

Tea time

Every afternoon, enjoy a gourmet moment at the tea room. Homemade pastries, such as our famous white cheesecake or the poppy seed and almond cake (gluten free) and other delicacies are offered in the salons of La Mirande in Avignon, under the glass-covered patio or on the terrace.

Our tea selection includes flushes from the most prestigious tea gardens :

- GYOKURO, the mythical Japanese green tea, has dark green, almost black leaves. The young shoots grown in the shade give it a strong and very vitalizing aroma.

- JAPAN SENCHA, a fragrant, fresh tea with a slightly smoky taste and a green colour.

- LAPSANG SOUCHONG, black tea, exposed to Chinese wood smoke which gives it its delicately smoked taste.

- ROOIBO, the plant that is not tea, is grown in South Africa. It is drunk like tea and contains no theine.

The purified water, the control of the individual water temperature and steeping time (leaves are removed before the tea is served) tends to achieve the best balance in flavour for each kind of tea.

Let us not forget the KOMBUCHA, a drink that appeared thousands of years ago probably in China, made of fermented tea which appeared in Eastern Europe in the 19th century. In fashion in Italy in the 1950s. Sparkling drink served chilled.

In the winter, old-fashioned hot chocolate is served to warm you up during the cold season.

Our espresso coffee is also organic and comes from Mexico. 100% Arabica, it is very delicate and slightly sour.

Numerous art books as well as French and foreign newspapers are available for the clientele of the tea room.
